Why I Started a Slow Mail Club in a Fast World

You already know the feeling.

The one where you've been staring at a screen all day. Work, then Instagram, then the news, then a show you're not even really watching. And something in you just wants to hold something real.

Not a notification. Not another tab. Something with weight. Something that was made slowly, by a person, for a person.

That feeling is what this whole thing is built around.

A couple years ago I started doing what I call slow mail. Journaling with real ink. Lighting a candle before I write a card. Sending postcards to people I love for no reason.

It sounds small. It is small. That's kind of the point.

Small things done with care are still care.

And I got so much out of it that I wanted to make a version of it I could send to other people. So I did.

It's called the Wild Petals Postal Service.

Every month, I paint a new postcard by hand (usually something nature-y, something quiet) and I mail it to you. With a handwritten note on the back. Sometimes a tiny sticker or a soft surprise tucked in.

It's $7/month. That's less than a fancy coffee, and it lasts longer.

Over 60 people get one in their mailbox every month now. I won a print club award for it in April. And the messages I get when envelopes arrive, "I hung it on my fridge," "I cried a little," "I mailed one to my mom," those are the ones I screenshot and read on hard days.

This is for you if you've been wanting a reason to slow down. If you love small art. If you want something beautiful to show up in your actual mailbox instead of your inbox.

It's also realllllly good to give. Lately I've noticed people order one for themselves, and once they get theirs, they decide to mail it to a loved one, too. To a therapist, a teacher, a friend who carries a lot and doesn't treat herself.

The first envelope ships at the end of the month. I'd love to send you one.

Keep blooming,
